This past winter brought some major storms, like property damage \/ insurance claim levels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Roof of the abode got smacked a bit, shingles in the yard, leakage in the garage, you get the idea.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Anyboots Half insisted a new roof was warranted, and the insurance company was going to pay for it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The other half poo-poos this, stating (with a quote) \u201cIt\u2019s not that bad.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Insurance adjuster\/estimator comes out, walks the roof, says (with a quote) \u201cIt\u2019s not that bad. Here, go get some shingles.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Insurance company pays a pittance, the other half feeling smug. \u201cSee? I was right!\u201d
Gotta crow those victories, beat that chest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Half, however, would not relent. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Half insists: \u201cNew roof now \/ insurance company pay.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Back and forth, back and forth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Last week, insurance company says, \u201cHere! Take this five-figure check and go get your new roof.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Half, to Half\u2019s credit, only said \u201cI told you so\u201d once to other half, did not smear other half\u2019s face with the grease of incompetence. Go, Half.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
That being said, and to salvage a bit of my misplaced pride, methinks Half and other half actually make a good team.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Half sets the goal and leads the team, other half carries the slopbucket. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
