Well this delightful little feature now ding \u2026 ding \u2026 dings even when the fridge is closed. Have to push it hard, in one specific spot, to get it to stop. Otherwise \u2026 ding \u2026 ding \u2026 ding until someone (me) presses it closed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Half and theKid? Totally unbothered.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I, however, can hear that chime on the moon. Which leads to my point.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Everything manmade will fail. Gently termed \u201cplanned obsolescence\u201d as the friendly fire phrase from corporate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Back in the dim dark days of early high school I had a teacher who told us about the concept, how prior generations built appliances, cars, and even buildings to last, but somewhere along the way capitalism got involved and discovered that making things to break on schedule was a better business practice, keeps companies profitable and consumers consuming. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Methinks everyone here, even in the cheap seats, knows that there will be a major malfunction right after the warranty ends. All by design \u2026 masters of mankind, indeed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n But it\u2019s a valuable lesson \u2026 do not overvalue \u201cthings\u201d and \u201cstuff\u2019 and \u201cgoods,\u201d because everything manmade will fail. I want to get off. The world is moving too fast. And so begins the never-ending loop of upgrades, latest models, and extended plans.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Sigh and double sigh.<\/p>\n\n\n\n So again, everything manmade will fail. Even the flesh. {Gen. 6:3<\/em>}<\/p>\n\n\n\n Put trust not in the material, but in the eternal.\u00a0 In CHRIST. {Colossians 3:2<\/em>} So getting right with the afterlife \u2014 \u2018coz the soul and spirit are GOD made, not man made \u2014 is\/should be of primary focus for the meatbox. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Because when the flesh fails, that which does not goes on. <\/p>\n\n\n\n And it sure as shootin\u2019 ain\u2019t your heart, Ms. Dion.
