Some wise mind at the Heritage Foundation (???) bemoaned and bewailed the \u201ccrisis of credentialism,\u201d whereby humans (in \u2018Murrica, at least) must have a college\/university degree to get even the lowest of the low-paying white collar jobs (see: receptionist\/secretary\/exec assistant) so young people are spending longer in school, delaying adulthood (with all of its related responsibilities of briding and breeding) which results in a decline in overall fertility for society as a whole.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Guess the masters of mankind failed to really think that one through. Not surprising. {Matthew 23:24<\/em>}<\/p>\n\n\n\n The price of merely existing has become cost-prohibitive, so much so that folks working full-time are living out of their cars because housing is simply not affordable at the wage they\u2019re making.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Living in the car is one solution, but simply where does one poop naked?<\/p>\n\n\n\n WTAF(udge)?<\/p>\n\n\n\n Does this end anywhere?<\/p>\n\n\n\n Oh right. Anyone?<\/p>\n\n\n\n I suppose methinks the message for the younglings \u2013 and it seems to be getting through \u2013 is that trade skills are more valuable than an overpriced piece of paper, unless medicine or engineering is the forte, so much so that apprenticeships might just be the next professional wave.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Well bully all over them. Well done, well played.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Get paid to learn, no student loan debt, working wage (assuming the union is solid \u2026 big assumption \/ Jimmy Hoffa is where?) altho\u2019 there is the risk of catastrophic work-related injury (construction deaths hold the top spot for national job fatalities) and Joe the Plumber died of pancreatic cancer (bummer but maybe job-unrelated?) but if you can survive, you can survive.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n And no student loans to forgive \u2026 altho\u2019 a couple just recently got a quarter mil\u2019 in student loan debt forgiven that they\u2019d been paying on for 30 years \u2026 and don\u2019t forget yours truly (other half) just got relief as well, but in exchange for perpetually low pay so there\u2019s that \u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n But anyhoo, the current model of school \u2014 more-school \u2014 job\/career \u2014 marriage(maybe)-\u2014family(maybe) is not sustainable, and the successive (successful?) generations are starting to find and figure that out.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Starting life in debt is no way to live. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Tide?\u00a0 See turn.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n Point?
