There’s a guy who got burnt crisp following a motorcycle accident (cap on the tank came off, spilled gas ignited to melt his hands and face) AND THEN he wound up paralyzed from the waist down after a plane crash.

Nothankyoudonotwant.

This selfsame guy had his fingers melted to nubs and his very identity erased but actually said that he has real, genuine happiness in his heart.

Wow.

W Mitchell is a motivational speaker, and in all, total super honesty? I have NOTHING to complain about. A debt monkey the size of a small yacht (and not including mortgage) is NOTHING compared to what this man has been through.

Talk about perspective.

Basically, his motto: It’s not what happens to you. It’s what you do about it.

Mind. Blown.

I didn’t realize it, but that stoicism … the philosophy of just let it go, man … is somewhat what I’ve been practicing … Don’t waste time with excitement; just deal with/in the now.

RUMOR HAS IT: Marcus Aurelius was the most powerful person alive in his time (121 – 180 AD) and used to get up each day with the idea of how he could be a better leader, better ruler, and better person.

The world needs all of that. Can you imagine? If world leaders looked to the benefit of humankind, rather than the individual benefits that accrue to just a few humans, the world would be a so much different place.

But it’s not.

It’s not what happens; your reaction merely confirms who you actually are.

I guess I’m so chill I’m legally dead. I truly do not sweat much.

If a quarter million-dollar debt monkey doesn’t keep me up nights, not much will.

Which is a BLESSING. Because money ain’t math, and the system is rigged, and we (the Precariat) were screwed before we even got started. {Matt. 23:2-4}

Good to know.

Even better to do something about it.

There’s a guy who got burnt crisp following a motorcycle accident (cap on the tank came off, spilled gas ignited to melt his hands and face) AND THEN he wound up paralyzed from the waist down after a plane crash. Nothankyoudonotwant.
