Had a \u201cno spend\u201d month in April \u2026 went quite well, actually.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
God\u2019s rule of \u201cDon\u2019t spend; if do, spend wisely\u201d works for my\/household expenses, but theKid is a whole \u2018nother ball of expenditure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
theKid needs \u201cstuff,\u201d and some of that stuff isn\u2019t exactly a need but rather a little slice of joy in the day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
So, I\/we\/me spend some on theKid that wouldn\u2019t spend on me\/myself\/I\/us.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
But, during no-spend April, told theKid it was no-spend April, and \u2014 surprisingly \u2014 theKid was fully onboard.\u00a0 Kept asking for \u201cstuff\u201d because, y\u2019know … theKid, but was completely reasonable when told no.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
theKid is so awesome, truly doesn\u2019t deserve me as a parent, but GOD knows what HE\u2019s doing, so we\u2019ll just go with that.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
But I do lament. {Lamentations 3:40<\/em>}<\/p>\n\n\n\n theKid deserves better. So rather than giving up, in or out, I just need to give more.<\/p>\n\n\n\n More attention, more time, more patience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Because my debt affects theKid \u2026 in the form of legacy, of lesson, of example.<\/p>\n\n\n\n theKid sees Half stressed behind my debts, and sees my indifference to them, and neither are good.<\/p>\n\n\n\n theKid (all kids) must learn that money is simply a tool \u2026 a tool that can build, or a tool that can destroy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Right now, I\u2019ve wielding my tool in such a way as to destroy, Half too, because money is the source of discontent. Not money, exactly, but how it is used \u2026 as a tool. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Need to be more nimble, more facile, and stop slamming my thumbs.\u00a0 Half too, but Half only bangs thumbs when I\u2019m the one directing the blow.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n Lesson? I\u2019m to the age where I care not about me, but theKid deserves better, so \u2026 time to step up. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Got three mailings offering to help since the suit \u2026 heh.
