Saw a billboard recently, said \u201cWe All Need A Little Help Sometimes,\u201d and I\/we\/me wondered why it\u2019s so hard to ask for help, of any kind.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Probably because needing help is typically a sign of weakness, of failure in some fundamental way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Guy drowned in Florida was asking for help, while the cops stood there and watched him die. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
In all fairness tho\u2019 they did tell him not to jump into the water, and police officers are not lifeguards. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Don\u2019t believe they signed up for that. They want the right to shoot people, not get all wet. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
But when one asks for help and none comes one feels a mite foolish, like one might\u2019ve just helped oneself.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Or not gotten into that particular predicament pickle in the first place.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Chris \u201cBish-Slapped\u201d Rock had a bit where when his car broke down and he tried to flag down someone to help him, those lovely New Yorkers just flew right on by.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
But when he started pushing his busted vehicle by himself by the side of the road, guys stopped in droves to help him push.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Almost as if the message is \u2026 OOPS \u2026 God helps those who help themselves. [not actually in the Bible, but God actually helps those who cannot<\/em> help themselves {Psalms 121:2<\/em>}] My strength and my salvation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Interesting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n So maybe the actual message is to lean on the Lord, for He has you. Whatever it is. <\/p>\n\n\n\n That\u2019s why it\u2019s so hard to ask for help from others. We should be seeking help from Him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Interesting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Point?<\/p>\n\n\n\n Mentioned somewheres around these parts that a lawsuit has come a\u2019knocking \u2026 on a Sunday \u2026 and Half answered the door. Not pleasant, oh-ho-no<\/em>, not pleasant at all. <\/p>\n\n\n\n There will be shrill.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Anyhoo, rather than try to satisfy this matter on my own, God arranged to have a letter sent, which I believe is the help I\/we\/me need.<\/p>\n\n\n\n An actual lawyer. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Funny thing \u2013 because this particular monkey decided to sue rather than settle, the lawyer will get some of the bananas I had planned to feed this monkey.
