The Doomsday Glacier is melting faster than the sciency-types expected \u2026 coastal cities (where approx. 200M humans actually live) are looking at a nine \u2026 foot \u2026 rise<\/em> \u2026 in sea levels by \u2026 well they can\u2019t really say \u201cwhen\u201d now, can they?\u00a0 Since it\u2019s failing so much faster than originally thought.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Parts of Pakistan, Yemen, Mexico, Australia, and Mississippi (here\u2019s looking at you, You-Ess-Say) experienced floodrains not seen in more than a century \u2026 and it\u2019s only going to get worse.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

China, nations in Europe, the American South and Pacific Northwest, as well as most of Southeast Asia has seen temps in the 110s, some 120s in 2022 \u2026 and it\u2019s only going to get worse.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Oh, and the Russians are bombing the largest nuclear plant in Europe.\u00a0
Good times, and they will only get worse.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Not that I care.  Well, a little, because y\u2019know, theKid, but life is the mere foreshadow of death, which includes theKid.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hate to think about it, but it\u2019s getting harder and harder not to.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ostrich, meet sand. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Listening to the radio the other morning and some poptartlet with a current hit I haven\u2019t heard was doing a Zoom interview (why is that a thing) and she said that she didn\u2019t have any religion, wasn\u2019t raised religious, and really struggled with the \u201cwhys\u201d when bad things happen (parents\u2019 divorce, death of a friend, etc., ad nauseum).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Well \u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If the self believes in nothing, has faith in nothing, and worships nothing, then nothing is all that is.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If morality and purpose are only defined externally \u2014 \u201cI give my life meaning; I decide what is moral\u201d \u2014 then morality and purpose lack any real meaning beyond the self. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

So, saints and serial killers are both right.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Where is the point in this? <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dunno.  You decide.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kidding.  I\u2019m kidding.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

GOD IS ALWAYS THE POINT. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

HE told us it was going to be bad, and it\u2019s rapidly getting there.\u00a0 {Matthew 24<\/em> (just read it already<\/em>)<\/sub><\/sup>}<\/p>\n\n\n\n

HE told us that we would lose sight and sound of HIM and HE has never been wrong.  {2 Tim. 4:7<\/em>}<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Strangely, I am sorrowful but not worried.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I regret the decision to bring theKid into this world, because theKid deserves so much better than the future to come, and yet I am so glad theKid is here. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Methinks my own selfishness plays the biggest part in that. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

BUT but money \u2260 math \u2026 money = motivation … in my case = theKid.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Purpose?  Make the theKid\u2019s world as great as possible while it all falls apart. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

And ensure theKid believes in GOD, has faith in GOD, and worships GOD, and understands that GOD is all that is.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

theKid will be just fine.  Me on the other hand?  Still working on my monkeys.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
