OK so now Trump is officially a convicted felon and I gotta say … so what.
OK, so falsifying business records to cover up hush money paid to a porn star.
Again … so what? This is the former president who, while running for office in 2016, proclaimed “I don’t even ask – just grab ‘em right in the [kitty]” and still wound up in some really good government housing. With snipers and rocket launchers on the roof. How cool is that.
And, and, what’s really telling? He raised multiple millions of dollars (see: $52M and change) for his campaign 24 hours after the verdict.
Seems like people – especially those with money, many without – don’t particularly care about white collar/greyhead crime. Don’t much care neither that he’s been found liable for assaulting a woman in the nethers with his nethers, to the tune of $80+M bucks.
Ahh, ‘Merica. And they say justice is blind.
Guess must define “justice.” {Leviticus 18:5}
Ellie Nesler had the right idea at the wrong time, ended up in prison and later died of breast cancer. Why no jury nullification still baffles me. Her son – the avenged – is currently serving what could be a life sentence for stomping a man to death. A contemporary stoning, but with feet rather than rocks?
Guy in Texas (Ellie killed in Cali) beat another guy to death with his bare hands … after finding the (now dead) guy in the act of violating his (righteously angry daddy’s) 5-year-old daughter. Texas neither arrested nor charged the dad. See: justice.
I think Trump is going to be the 47th president of the US. While he is unquestionably a horrible person, at this point methinks he may have a point: the “justice” system has transformed into a witch hunt, and those with the wrong type of power are working to ensure DonnyBoy doesn’t achieve that type of power again.
Methinks their efforts will backfire, and come to naught, because … ‘Merica. She owes no debt to justice. Always has, but never will. We are truly a morally bankrupt nation. Hello, Babylon?
Greyhead transgressions are merely the whims of wealth and power. Business, truly, as usual.
