The Greatest Gift

This weekend is Easter Sunday, and must say … still very grateful.

With all of everything going on, all the unexpected, all the drama, all the sturm and drang …
… still amazingly, overwhelmingly grateful.

When I think about the recent headaches, the overarching nonsense of others, the general foolishness of man, it is easy to get distracted, and forget all the good that is my life.

Married to a person who is invested in the marriage.  Ain’t perfect, lotsa problems, got some issues, but still going strong, and there is a unified commitment to our union.

We are both institutionalized, as it were. Grateful for that.

Have a child that is healthy, intelligent, empathetic and loves God.  How cool is that.

We share a home, material comforts, good health, and overall peace of mind.

Seriously.  The complaints are many and minor, in the grand scheme of all of the everything.

These latest times have been trying, no doubt, but faith and patience walk hand-in-hand.
{Psalm 30:5}

And this, too, shall pass.

Maybe a bit like a kidney stone or compacted stool, but it shall – eventually – pass.

And with the trials and tribulations, the grunts and the groans, the wailing and the gnashing … come out the other side just that much stronger, braver, wiser, and humble.

In spite of it all … I’m good.

And eternally grateful.
