Proper Respect

Mentioned ‘round these parts that theKid attends a private Christian school.

Yaaaaayyyyy GOD!!!

And at this private Christian school there is chapel.

And at this chapel they sing songs.

I can only imagine the smile on GOD’s face(s?) when HE hears children’s voices singing HIS praise.

They raise the roof, those young ones do.

Anyhoo, before they sing songs at chapel, there (predictably) is prayer.

Hey!  Fun fact:  after prayer was barred in public schools (mid-60’s), feminism took solid root (mid-60’s), and divorce became commonplace (mid- to late 60’s), society started its precipitous decline … crime, broken homes, yes abortions all began to increase / correlation is not causation digress

And at chapel kids are chosen from random classes to lead (1) the Pledge of Allegiance (Stars&Stripes), (2) the Pledge of Allegiance (Christian flag), and (3) the Pledge of Allegiance to the Bible, GOD’s Holy Word.

And then after all the pledging of allegiances, one child leads in prayer.

Here’s the point.

Instead of beginning this prayer with “Dear GOD,” as is the norm/expected, this little wonderful person began with “Hello JESUS” and took off from there.

And I must say … not sure how I feel about that but a part of me absolutely loves it.

Like, just starting a conversation rather than addressing a letter.

Interesting.  Wonder where that began?  The whole salutation thing …

“Our Father, Who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy Name …”  {Matthew 6:9-13}

“The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.”  {Psalm 23}

Although we (you/me/all) owe GOD, CHRIST JESUS, and the HOLY SPIRIT the unpayable debt of honor, respect, worship, and praise, I wonder if the TRINITY wouldn’t mind a little more personable familiarity.

Hello GOD.

Hi CHRIST JESUS.

Greetings, HOLY SPIRIT.

So very glad to know ALL OF YOU.
