Leave That Right Where It is

It occurs to me, disturbingly, that there are many in the horsemen class who really don’t want the problems identified, addressed, or fixed.

They like things just the way they are.

Watched a … podcast?  Redpillfest?  Bimbo diatribe and manshaming?  Whatever.

Anyhoo, the question was asked:  “Can a [horsemen] be a victim of racism?”

Suppose that depends on one’s definition of the term.  ‘Cause right now, everyone is a victim.

Disregard the historical, ancestral, and continuing legacy re the legalized/legitimized theft of land and labor … oh-ho-no, don’t mention that.

And the fact that (1) each and every piece of worldly dirt differs from every other piece of worldly dirt, and is, therefore, special and unique, such that it cannot be replaced, supplanted, or substituted.  Casinos are nice, but methinks wide open and unmolested plains were lovely too.

Or the fact that (2) for any labor-intensive endeavor payroll is always the highest cost, and the human hands that built/created/made what would become the United States of ‘Murrica were uncompensated, compulsory, and obtained through legalized/legitimized living dismemberment, flayed flesh, and other forms of recreational torture.

Let’s not go there.  That was a long time ago, and if the repercussions are still felt in modern day, well … guess it sucks to be them.

And simply recognizing the harms causes uncomfortable feelings and those feelings … “trump” … any coordinated effort to have a rational discussion of how we – the collective, disunified “we” – got here.

Case in point:  read an article about a woman, an educator, who was offered a position in a Georgia school district (well that explains just about everything) to help identify and address issues related to diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI, for the initiated).

Well we can’t have that now, can we?

Welp, the horsemen gathered at a local country club to organize the ride, and boy did they.

Matter of fact, they rode from their school district into another, chasing this woman all the way, steeped in ignorance, fear, and violence … the trifecta of the horseman class.

From the 17th and well into the 21st century.  More than 400 years, and still … not done yet.

But America is a post-racial society, and that was a long time ago.

Elected a partial member of the Ice Cream Social to lead the nation (altho’ he, too, had his own racial cross to bear … birtherism, anyone?  Anyone?  Oh, hello Donald, you potato head you)

Except for the fact that it’s not, and it isn’t, because we’re still dealing with it today.

There remains a debt, which can only be paid by truth.  Painful as it is. {Matthew 7:12}

I like Morgan Freeman, but that was a stupid thing to say.

You don’t cure cancer by refusing to discuss it.

And our country is rotting from the inside.

But some, a lot of some, like that smell … the odour of poop smeared along the halls of democracy.

And they have no interest in getting better, or cleaning the stains of history.

Just cover it with flag, and stop talking about it.

And don’t let anybody else, either.
