Guess That Answers That

I like Bob De Niro.  Seems like a crusty yet amusing person … your mom’s older brother who stockpiles guns and dirty jokes … “You talkin’ to me?”

Unfortunately, methinks he gets typecast as a gangster … did not know he was up for Jack Torrance at the Overlook but Jack did it better / kinda of like Will Smith as Neo … the right guy got the job.

Anyhoo, read/watched “Kill the Irishman,” and must say methinks Mr. De Niro was all wrong as Frank Sheeran.

He did fine in the movie but Frank was larger than most men … 6’4 and thickly built.

Bob ain’t that.  Akin to Tom Cruise playing Jack Reacher … uh, no.

And methinks part of Frank’s impact was his natural size.  As a union organizer, he could intimidate other men simply with his presence, get stuff moving.  But anyhoo, Frank confessed to killing his best friend and thus was instrumental in one of the greatest missing person cases anyone born after 1980 cares absolutely nothing about.

Jimmy Hoffa was as famous as Elvis but way more influential, just on a socio-economic/political level.  Leveraging the battle cry of the working man, if Hoffa had ordered a nationwide strike, it would have – literally – crippled America’s economy.

If you got it, it came on a truck driven by a union man.  {Proverbs 13:11}

Too bad he thought he was using the Mafia, when in fact the reverse was true.

Frank Sheeran also helped dispel the notion of the magic bullet.
The familia cinco felt bothered, knew removing the head of the snake was key to curing the bite.

Didn’t work, tho’.  Turns out the feds don’t take kindly to the murder of their leader.  Imagine that.

Turns out the feds knew who was involved in Hoffa’s disappearance but could not get anyone to court on that charge so the feds just hounded everyone involved and got ‘em locked up for whatevs.

That debt was paid in full, with interest, late fees and penalty charges.

Methinks – like the author of the book – that Frank’s account of events was true.  Which would explain a lot.

November 22, 1963.  July 30, 1975.

America has always had a man behind the curtain, pulling the strings, calling the plays.

At one point it was organized crime … now the crime is just organized in corporations.  Go figure.

Guess the new boss is the same as the old boss.
