Time Has Come

Welp, tried to hold on but things has gotten slights ridic … Must needs sell the Elder’s home.

Nursing home care costs are … nothing short of amazing.  Granted, and grateful, the spot that cares for the Elder is MAGS-nificient, all the good, best in the city, actually, with the awards and ratings to prove.

But day/yum … that is one serious monthly nut.

Was manageable/doable but with Half and theKid out-of-state and traveling cross country every few weeks, funds only go so far.  Money = miles.

Told the resident fam that it was time to either buy or leave, all in or all out, and to give an update on decision by early next month, with house on the market by early summer.

Pooh on that.

Slightly conflicted, tho’.  Not as if the ancestral home is full of wonderous, melodious, oh-so memorable memories.  Nope, not that.

But is the place where grew, and bloomed, and eventually left.  So that is kind of nice.

Nah … gimme money, so can give it to the nursing home.

Been looking at steps necessary to maximum ROI on this place, and prevailing wisdom is do nothing, do everything, and do something in-between.  {Ecclesiastes 9:10}

Helpful, not you are.

Basically, sounds like cleaning/clearing up the yard, fixing minor probs., deep cleaning the spot are the basics.  Gotta find an agent, and an inspector, and a gardener, and a handyhands.

Fellow womb-resident is totes hands off with process, as is full right.  During the nascent days, was completely and solely on deck, so theirs is the time to shine, relax, and visit on occasion.  Not mad, and grateful so unproblematic.

Sigh.

Consiglieri for the Corleones, son of Sanford, the mom from Home Alone, Dawson’s Creek guy, and Rev. (“the question is moot”) Jesse Jackson all headed to the other side of the veil, for whatever waits.  That debt always comes due.

Sigh.

Only two certainties in life.  And the homeless don’t pay taxes.
