The Importance of Being In/Per-sistent

Whelp, Half was right again.

I really should learn to just listen and accept but cannot so will not.  Heh.  The knot on my head just keeps getting bigger.

This past winter brought some major storms, like property damage / insurance claim levels.

Roof of the abode got smacked a bit, shingles in the yard, leakage in the garage, you get the idea.

Anyboots Half insisted a new roof was warranted, and the insurance company was going to pay for it.

The other half poo-poos this, stating (with a quote) “It’s not that bad.”

Insurance adjuster/estimator comes out, walks the roof, says (with a quote) “It’s not that bad.  Here, go get some shingles.”

Insurance company pays a pittance, the other half feeling smug.  “See?  I was right!”
Gotta crow those victories, beat that chest.

Half, however, would not relent.

Half insists:  “New roof now / insurance company pay.”

Back and forth, back and forth.

Last week, insurance company says, “Here!  Take this five-figure check and go get your new roof.”

Half, to Half’s credit, only said “I told you so” once to other half, did not smear other half’s face with the grease of incompetence.  Go, Half.

That being said, and to salvage a bit of my misplaced pride, methinks Half and other half actually make a good team.

Half sets the goal and leads the team, other half carries the slopbucket.

Hey!  The slopbucket is important, too.

Otherwise, everyone steps in spit.

So there.  {1 Corin. 14:25}
