Baby Burst

Apparently (heh, didjacatchthat?no?nevermind) the Rethuglicans are seriously worried re the lack of babies being born (among the horsewomen,a’cours).

In the land of Dobbs, the SAVE Act, dismantling the Dept of Education (‘cept for collecting on default student loan debt), and efforts to end no-fault divorce … Don’t ever wonder.

Here’s a suggestion … try universal health care, paid parental leave, subsidized child care, Head Start programs, early childhood development, affordable housing, wages tied to inflation, etc.,

No?  Oh, right.  Cash reward – about $5K – for birthing.

No mention if those have to be live, tho’.  Caveat.

When the cost of raising one child in a middle-income lifestyle is nearly a quarter mil, that $5K is gone before the next size in diapers.

Out of touch much?

If it weren’t so pathetic it would almost be sad.

Why not just compensate the bred with six-figure bonus checks?  Would cover the cost of raising the little crotch goblins, low financial risk for parents, more cogs in the capitalist machine.

Saw an entirely disturbing video on the tubes of You how baby formula companies are actively lobbying against paid maternal leave because it will cut into their bottom line.  Seems Nestle and friends stand to lose about $350M in annual revenue if new moms stay home with their new borns and (presumably) breast feed.

Seventh circle of hell much?

Methinks the global rate should continue to plummet, follow South Korea (land of the 4B) with its less than one person replacement rate (yes! oh wait it went up a bit) … but some say the nation has already passed the point of no return, that for every retiree there is less than one worker, such that the society has already collapsed, has only failed to realize.  By 2060, there will be four 50YOs for every one (1, uno, eins, një) 1YO, and that only 1 in 100 South Koreans will be under the age of five.  On its current declining trajectory, 100M people in 2024 will be 36M people by the second generation will be 13M people by the third generation and 5M people by the fourth generation.  Likely will not be a fifth.

Decapitated chicken, still strutting in the yard.

Seems like a pretty good start.

Now, if only the intelligent, educated, self-aware horsewomen of breeding age simply refused to … well, breed between now and say, January 20, 2029, let the conblonds and the tradwives do all the heavy lifting in the interim, let them pay the debt of reproduction to the specie … now THAT would be a real protest, flexing some true united front.

Because honestly?  The greatest power of a woman is her womb.  {1 Samuel 1:20}
If fertile soil lies fallow, there goes the harvest.

Flex, lady.  Flex.
