Well this is … 2025.
And, apparently, there is an interstellar object hurtling towards Momma Earth at about 130K/MPH, and none of the really big brains knows what it is.
Troubling. But a bit of a thrill too.
Deep Impact is one of the faves (do love a good ELE flick) although methinks some large, frightening and frightened male-person would have booted Frodo from his motorbike, blondie & baby buhdamned.
Listened to a pastor/theologian/apologist recently who considered GOD in the truly cosmic sense, and stated something along the lines that Earth was perfectly placed in the solar system to support life, with the statistical likelihood of that placement being purely, entirely random yet inextricably fortuitous ranged somewhere to the nth power of infinity.
Comforting. Always nice to be right.
Anyhoo. There was some additional discussion of Jupiter, and Saturn, and Neptune, and Uranus, and how these giants have intercepted all sorts of space rocks that should crater (heh) Earth with little to no effort, which is just moar pruf that the universe, and specifically our solar system, is divinely engineered.
{Isaiah 40:22} So there.
That being said … Oumuamua is still spinning out there in the cosmos, hovering on the edges, being all mysterious and … stuff.
Still don’t/can’t believe a meteor seven miles wide slammed into Earth 66MYO and took out all / most of the dragons. Still believe a Flood did alladat.
And mewonders if the debt to be paid for disrespecting the planet will be paid in a solar flare …
… “fire next time” … indeed.
Or maybe the interstellar boogeyman heading this way is the great payback.
Will be interesting to see … but wouldn’t get to see it, actually. If ELE was truly on the way, mesuspect the masters of mankind would keep that little morsel of truth all to themselves … the oilymuskyfunk, Bozos, theZuck, maybe Oprah (and her stylist) would get the heads-up to head to the bunkers.
But if so … if the masses were given enough warning … taking theKid and heading to the beach, Jenny Lerner-style. Half would likely be looting in the streets, as Half is wont to do, but other half and theKid? Gonna just ride the big wave.
